Hawaii, Day 1

Today started really really really early, even for me.  Our flight out from San Jose left at 6:45 a.m.  In theory, I could have napped on the plane, but I didn’t.

Instead, once we arrived here in Waikiki, I threw on my bathing suit and headed for the pool.  This is the nice warm sky.

Here are my nice warm feet.

As is traditional, here is a photo of the mai tai of the day.  I have to say that I didn’t drink much of mine because after the not much sleep last night and the getting up early, I had a bit of a headache and the first sip or two didn’t help.  Fortunately, Brent was more than happy to solve this problem for me.

After the mai tai and some food (I had two kinds of poke, Brent had a kalbi beef melt and some kind of fancy curly fries), we took a brief just-after-sunset walk on the beach.  I got my feet wet and sandy and all was well.
