Hawaii, Day 3
I knew today was going to
be pretty much a travel day from Oahu to Maui, so I decided to take a picture
of one of my favorite Hawaiian things, the ABC Store.
I have often joked that I
belong to the Church of 7-Eleven because I go there so often. If I lived in Hawaii, I might have to convert
to the Church of ABC. They’re
everywhere. There were three outposts
just in the hotel we were staying in.
Need sunscreen? They have
that. Pineapple rum, check. Beach mat?
Postcard? Cold medicine? Sandwich?
Sun hat? Touristy shot
glass? Emergency lunch? Yep.
They have pretty much everything.
They have all the benefits of the average convenience store plus all the
Hawaiian tourist things anyone could want.
I did sit out on our
little lanai for a bit before the rain started and we needed to leave for the
airport. It was nice.
The flight to Maui was
uneventful. Well, I napped, so if it was
eventful, it was eventful quietly enough that I slept right through it. I am a little bit afraid that I’m coming down
with a cold, so when we went to lunch after we arrived, I got some saimin on
the theory that soup almost always helps.
Here is the proof that I am not cut out to be a food blogger:
The soup was, however,
delicious. It had fish cake and kalua
pork in it along with the ramen and a bunch of green onion.
Then we checked in to our
place for the next week. This is the
view:
I took myself to the hot
tub and now I’m going to down some cold medicine before dinner and an early
night.
